Thursday groups continuing to attract new members. The Thursday group share light

refreshment in the mid-session interval and good conversation is had by all and

continue to contribute to club life.

Juniors

The Junior Section is thriving and going well despite having lost a few members

recently, the coaching sessions are well attended with a number of older juniors now

showing significant improvement, the Club has entered a team in the Division 3 of

the Wigan league and continue to thrive from the experience of playing good

opposition.

Club Equipment

The Chaiman highlighted the need to keep the premises in a tidy condition with all

members asked to clean tables after use and all used balls are cleared from the floor

area in all rooms. In addition, each of the refuse bins should emptied on a regular

basis with contents taken to the refuse skip situated by the entrance gates of the Mill.

The Robot has now been repaired and is again fit for purpose; the Chairman

highlighted the need to use only the orange balls for this equipment and to assemble

and ensure this equipment is used with care and should be removed from the table

when not in use. The Chairman gave a demonstration to members how to operate

after the conclusion of the meeting.

General Building Maintenance

We continue to suffer from water ingress in the match rooms, work is in progress to

prevent further ingress, the Mill management have been informed of these areas

where dampness is most prominent, it is an ongoing situation.

Projects

A general discussion took place and has resulted in a ‘hit list’ of priorities to enhance

the building facilities, these included improved lighting for the main practice room, (a

grant already received of £200), Dragon room door replacement and longer term,

new floor covering for both match rooms. Various members offered advice and were

willing to contribute to acquiring grants to facilitate project costs.

Coaching

Along with himself the Chairman stated that P Dawson and M Morrow provided

varying levels of coaching to Members and Juniors, assistance was requested to

help the Juniors on Wednesday night would be most welcome.

AOB

There were several items raised, briefly these were brought up as follows.

Create a new What’s App group for training videos.

Monday night training with coaching and routines to commence after conclusion of

the season. More integration of members is necessary, so all abilities get the

opportunity to rotate during practice and spreading skills and learning.

It was also noted all users of the Match rooms have a limited period on the tables, so

to allow all to participate using these facilities, names should be placed on the list

and times adhered to by all. Commandeering a table for long periods when other are

waiting to use the table is not permitted and this situation will be monitored.

Website to be updated to include more details on training videos and other

supportive data, to give facility to outside grant organisations to view the clubs ethos

and service in the community.
